FLT

I know better than to go grocery shopping when I’m hungry, but after a long day, and a nap when I got home, today I caved. But the good news is that I chose healthy. The only thing that made it into the cart that was not vegan was organic pizza rolls. And the only non-organic item was the pre-cut fruit because I haven’t convinced myself yet that I’m not too lazy to chop up fruit for easy morning smoothie assembly.

I did however convince myself not to be too lazy to make an FLT sandwich. It did require a minimal amount of preparation, but as you can see in the photo, all you need is some oil (I opted for grapeseed), an oven, the rest of your fixings, and a few minutes of your time. The facon was a little hard to peel apart, so it broke up a little, but if you are more patient than me, this is easily avoidable. I used a brush to apply the oil and cooked it on 450º in a toaster oven for about 5-7 minutes. Any longer than that and you might have some casualties (out of respect, mine were not pictured).

I have tried this brand, Lightlife, before for meatless ground crumbs in tacos and it was delicious. I can post that review another day, but for my end result FLT for dinner, I give this fake bacon brand 4 out of 5 beets. All-in-all a delicious alternative to my usual MLT (because let’s face it, JUST Mayonnaise deserves its own letter).

Stay tuned for more posts, because I actually went on a Giant Eagle trip that involved a cart. This might be the start to a good week!
